THE END

This is the moment .

That point in time.

The day when you say goodbye.

It's tough too, but here I am thinking it has to be done. I have nothing more to add to their story right now...so what do I do?

Crack champagne? Sure I would but it's just past ten in the morning so that will have to wait.

I need to do something, right? This is the kick-off. The opening pass. The moment I hand my new and shiny story over for the final edits. I used to do this with such ease, but right now it feels like the first time all over again.

Crazy right?

So, I decided to step back and have a look at Willa and Iron's story. How it has grown from two strangers to what they are to each other now at the end. That's when I freaked out. I mean, I had an absolute heart attack.

These characters that I've spent so much time with have only known one another for maybe a week and a half - if that. It's mind blowing to think about because that is SO not me. I mean I've enjoyed acquaintances for twenty years.

There I am, flipping through the 500+ pages, going...? "No, that's good. That's great. That's...aw...I loved that part. " By the end of my searching for a problem I couldn't find with the timing, I was nodding. Sighing. Remembering just how much I love them and why.

They are real to me. Even though Iron's a sexually possessive individual who has a few quirks. Namely his preference to chase an adrenaline high through intimacy. <- That right there means, physical, emotional, and intellectual. Phew! Some of their conversations are hot, hot, HOT!

And Willa is an adrenaline junkie who hasn't been able to pair that trait with the smexy until she meets him. All I can say is...? The setup made for an interesting journey for both of them. This similar trait they share that had been different for each until they came together was an eye opener for me.

Good times.

It did remind me of one of the first reviews I got on my debut novel Reclaimed Surrender. It was from a man and when I read it, I could remember thinking...Really? that can't right? He put the timeline of the plot down in terms of days and there's me thinking it only took that long for Rene to reclaim his wife's surrender?

Days. The whole book took place in a matter of days! *shakes head*

But then? I don't think anyone else noticed this review, they were too busy chatting online about the lemon oil scene. Haha! I should have patented that recipe. I got enough reader mail over it. As I recall most readers liked the ladder scene, but they loved the desk oil scene better.

There's always something, right?

I mean, Willa and Iron have the white lightning event to live down. Please don't look at me like that. It's all about the risk for them. If you're worried, Iron's been interviewed about it you can check it out. For me? I wonder how the lemon oil holds up against the white lightning event?

Anyone else reach a milestone lately?

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Riley
