Glue or Unglued Memories...

So this is interesting. A few months ago I went to buy some glue. It was a popular brand and I needed it for a piece of artwork. When I got to the store, this expensive item was on sale for half off, so I bought two bottles.
Why not right? I use the glue to seal my pieces so I figured the extra would get used.
Enter the cranky contractor. (Aptly named by the grandkids because the term Honey is sorta wimpy)

Who knew? Certainly not grandma. Anyways, Mr. Cranky sees the two glue bottles and he actually calls me on them.
There’s me silently going, ‘Oh really? Just wait until you ask me for one of them.’ I never said this out loud and wouldn’t you know it? Just three measly months later we arrive at that just you wait moment.
*Looks right at you*
He asks for a bottle. Why? Because he’s building that hall tree for a client and the stuff is good carpenter glue.

I reply as quickly and as casually as I can, “I don’t think so.”
If you could have seen the look on his face? Priceless. “What? Why not?”
Lifts brow
Now he’s interested in being reasonable?
“Because three months ago when I bought the extra bottle when it was on sale for half off, so you know, I got two for one, you made fun of me. I believe you suggested I was glue binging because we didn’t need THAT much glue, but clearly we do as you are in need of it and I have and you don’t. How’s that?”
He doesn’t even blink. “Are you finished?”
Yeah, I suppose I was, but I didn’t let it go. “Next time I come home with a two for one deal I don’t want you to make fun of me. These things are essentials.”
He deadpanned. “Glue?”
I deadpanned right back. “Who's the one who needs it?”
All he did was smile.
Me? I went and got him the stupid glue…
How’s your day going? Good?
As always, thanks for stopping by,
Riley
